An annoying flaw of the DMU-2000 is the RF Scope, spectrum analyzer, will fail. If your screen looks like the following

it should look like this

The ceramic filter CF7001 on the FT-2000 scope board is defective. Go to web site http://ac0c.com/main/page_ft2k_roofing_filters_dmu_bandscope_repair.html and you will find the info on repairing the scope board. The filter is a small 5 pin filter, 3 ground pins, an input and output pin. It is not surface mount but it is small and can be tricky to remove. If you are not comfortable unsoldering small ICs then I would suggest finding someone to do it for you, I think Yaesu charges about $80 or buy a new board for about $160. I used a pair of diagonal cutters and cut the plastic case open, removed the ceramic pieces, they fall out. The 5 divider plates are hooked to the five pins and are easy to unsolder and remove. Use solder wick and a small hot iron to remove remaining solder.

The technical manual can be downloaded from this page. You can order the filter from Yaesu at at 714-827-7600 ext. 4 in the US. The part number in the tech manual is H3900542 has been superseded by part number H3900588. The cost is .71 cents, I ordered 5 but I doubt the board could stand more than a couple of replacement without damage. Maybe the new part # is possibly a more substantial part.
