The Gulf

I read in the paper last week a figure which I found staggering: In the gulf there are 27,000 abandoned wells. These were figures back to 1940. There are 2 types of abandonment, short term and permanent. The permanent will never be used again were the short term is temporary and the sealing process is not as strict. There is no one who checks on these wells or require the oils companies to verify the seals stability, our government at work in our best interests again!! Guess who has the most temporarily abandoned wells in the gulf, you guessed it BP!!

I would not condemn everyone of them, I am sure there must be one or two good ones but in general they are the bane of our society. Without them and their money along with all these political action groups our congressman would have nothing better to do then work for the people who elected them. What a novel idea.
