This is the kit I will build. I will add photos as I progress.

This unit was first available in Fall of 1983.

This was the Christmas catalog entry in 1983.

Day 4 cont. construction finished ready for testing.

Day 4 cont. If there is a problem on foil side it will be a problem to service.

It is finished and it clibrated just fine.

Some of the resistance checks did not come within spec. but it had not effect on the unit.

This kit, although easy to assemble, has a lot of small parts in close proximity. If there is a foil side problem then the whole front panel will have to be disassembled to remove the board.  This was not one of Heathkit's best designs. There are no proprietary parts except maybe the transformer and the rotary switch.  This unit should be serviceable for years to come. I had to use a good old fashion Triplett 310-C analog meter to test the diode circuitry.  I kept getting erroneous readings with my digital meters even though they had a diode position.
